Jammie Dodger anyone?

Fear not! Lockdown boredom is over!

If you've been anything like us over lockdown, you've probably reached your peak when it comes to finding new things to do with the kids, meaning either you've become an expert at passing off old activities as new ones ( Oh look that cardboard box we turned into a rocket yesterday is now a car, lets draw some wheels on the side) or you're just at your wits end and the kids have now become part human, part IPad.

Well fear not, we've got you covered! We're always on the look out for fun things to do with the kids, and luckily a lot of our dads (and Mums) who listen to the Lads to Dads podcast are also absolute bloody geniuses, and often send us some of their great inventions to try out with the kids.

The only catch is that this is Lads to Dads and not the Instagram account of your favourite influencer, so when we try things out for you, we do it as dads, we're not perfect, and we're not bias.

So when fellow Lad and Dad Tom Pannett asked us to review his latest product, we weren't expecting what came through the door. Giant biscuit moulds based on all your favourite biscuits, we're talking custard creams, jammy dodgers and even party rings!

He was taking on a lot of risk, considering neither of us are bakers and much prefer cooking a curry to baking, this could have turned into a kitchen disaster very quickly.

He need not have worried though, as Tom's Products are not only genius but like all good inventions (I'm looking at you Post it note,.....and you paper clip) they're also simple and practical.

Tom is a Dad and you can really tell! He hasn't gone in there and created a mould for a digestive or a rich tea, he's gone in hard on the family favourites. We're talking Giant Jammie Dodgers, Custard Creams, Party Rings, Bourbon, Oreo and even a KitKat. Oh and you'll be happy to know in our interview with Tom, I asked him the only sensible question anyone would ask when faced with a giant KitKat cake mould "can you pour lots of melted KitKat chocolate into it, to make a giant KitKat?"

The answer is a resounding yes, and that right there is the finished article!

Tom said:

“I wanted to create something that would put a smile on people’s faces, again and again. Whether you are baking with kids (and Grandparents on Zoom) or whether you want to liven up your Instagram feed, these moulds are simple to use and turn out, dishwasher safe - you can’t go wrong!”

The beauty of Mouldy fun is that they don't just do giant biscuits, they also do a bit of everything from chocolate VW camper van moulds to Candle moulds, easter eggs to bath bombs, and that's why we love this company so much and think it's such a great find for parents especially during lockdown.

In the next few weeks we will be dropping our interview with Tom on the Lads to Dads podcast, myself and Ben will also be putting up the results of our bake off challenge using the moulds for you all to see, so keep your eyes peeled, but until then give the mouldy fun website a visit and send us your pictures showing how you got on using the moulds, we can't wait to see them!
