At lads to dads, we know that parenting is more than just looking after the children it's also looking after the bills.
And I know bills are boring but at the moment they are out of control, like us you're probably starting to struggle with your bills as the prices of gas and electric have gone up to a ridiculous amount.
So here's our handy little tip to save a little bit of money on your heating bill.
Martin Lewis has previously suggested that homeowners don't leave their heating on low all day to try and avoid monthly outgoings.
The idea of leaving your heating on low all day to save money is a myth.
Having the heating on only when you need it is, in the long run, the best way to save energy, and therefore money. "A timer's best as your thermostat turns your heating on and off to keep your home at the temperature you set).
This can slash some people's heating bills by half, especially combined with good insulation.
Another good thing to do although it doesn't look too pretty (but you can hide it) is to put tin foil at the back of the radiator this reflects the heat back into the house.
Once the house is fully heated turn the heating off, this providing you have good insulation, will prevent using more energy than you need and the house will stay warmer for a lot longer than you think.

At the end of the day, especially at the moment we all want to lower our bills slightly, and I know talking about bills isn't the most fun topic but it is still part of parenting and it's still part of trying to run a family.
